This critical role involves serving as the client representative (Bauherr) for major flood protection projects concerning first-order waters and associated structures, including dikes and flood retention basins, primarily located in the Heilbronn area under the Stuttgart Regional Council. Day-to-day responsibilities include leading the planning, construction, monitoring, and billing processes for these complex measures. The successful candidate will manage external engineering firms, coordinate all project stakeholders—from municipalities and associations to construction companies—and oversee contract awards and construction supervision. Key qualifications include a Master's degree in Civil or Hydraulic Engineering, negotiation-level German proficiency, and physical resilience for site inspections in challenging terrain. This position offers an engaging, responsible, and varied role within a modern public administration setting, focusing on vital environmental protection and water management initiatives.

Required Skills

Education

Master's Degree (or Dipl.-Ing.) in Civil Engineering, Hydraulic Engineering, or a comparable field of study.

Experience

  • Professional experience in construction planning, monitoring, and billing for infrastructure projects
  • Experience managing external engineering firms and construction contractors
  • Experience in water management with a focus on flood protection (Preferred)
  • Experience with dam investigation and maintenance concepts
