Job Summary

The City of Witten Drainage Utility is seeking a dedicated and team-oriented Engineer (Dipl.Ing., B.Sc., or M.Sc.) to join their canal operations team. This role focuses on developing, planning, and implementing urban drainage projects, including initiatives related to 'Sponge City' concepts to manage heavy rainfall and heat periods, and the renewal and expansion of public sewage systems using both open and closed construction methods. Day-to-day responsibilities involve acting as the client representative for construction projects managed by external engineering firms, overseeing cost and schedule control, and coordinating extensively with various municipal departments, external utility providers, contractors, and residents. The ideal candidate has a degree in Civil Engineering, preferably specializing in construction operations, civil engineering, or urban water management, and ideally possesses knowledge of German construction regulations (HOAI, VOB, VgV).
