Job Summary

This permanent, full-time role within the City of Witten's Civil Engineering Department focuses on the critical planning and implementation of traffic light systems (LSA) and general traffic technology. The successful candidate will be responsible for planning the construction, modification, and expansion of LSAs, while serving as the client representative. Key daily tasks involve coordinating external engineering firms in developing both fixed-time and traffic-dependent signal programs, monitoring system functionality, and inspecting construction site signals. Furthermore, the role requires significant administrative and legal competency, including managing the tendering and awarding of engineering services and framework contracts for LSA operation and maintenance. The position also involves supporting construction supervision, handling inquiries from political bodies and citizens, and preparing necessary council documents. Candidates must possess a university degree (Bachelor/Master/Dipl.-Ing.) in a technical-engineering science field, coupled with profound knowledge of LSA planning and relevant traffic engineering software.
