Job Summary

The City of Witten is seeking a full-time, permanent Construction Manager to oversee road construction and maintenance within the Civil Engineering Department. This role involves comprehensive project management, from initial tendering and billing to full site supervision. Day-to-day responsibilities include acting as the client representative for projects handled by external engineering firms, ensuring strict cost and schedule control, and managing all associated contracts, such as those for expert assessors and safety coordinators. A crucial element of the position is extensive stakeholder management, requiring proactive communication with local residents, businesses, municipal departments, and external utility providers to coordinate efforts and address inquiries. Candidates must hold a completed degree in Civil Engineering, preferably specializing in road and civil engineering, coupled with strong practical knowledge of German construction regulations (VOB) and fee structures (HOAI).
