Job Summary

This Postdoctoral position at the Max Planck Institute for Physics (MPP) focuses on developing cutting-edge scientific software and advanced statistical methods within the DEMOS and BAT.jl projects. The successful candidate will play a major role in implementing the HEP Statistics Serialization Standard (HS3) in Julia, contributing to its evolution, and developing portable, interoperable machine-learning models. Key responsibilities include leading the definition and reference implementation of "Models as a Service" (MaaS) in Julia and applying these technologies to real physics use cases, such as Belle II and LEGEND experiments. This role requires a strong background in software development, an interest in Bayesian inference, and the willingness to dive deeply into the Julia programming language, offering a unique opportunity to contribute to fundamental research in particle and astroparticle physics.
