Job Summary

The City of Stuttgart is seeking an IT Engineer to manage the technical infrastructure for its critical E-File (E-Akte) platform within the Office for Digitization, Organization, and IT (DO.IT). This role is essential for maintaining a secure and stable IT environment, focusing on the implementation, installation planning, and operation of the E-File infrastructure. Day-to-day responsibilities include ensuring the technical base infrastructure remains scalable and high-performing, supporting application owners in integrating the Document Management System (DMS) with central services like backup solutions and databases, and handling the technical operation and customization of Windows-based server components. The ideal candidate possesses a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field, or relevant professional IT training with significant experience, coupled with deep knowledge of Windows Server administration, virtualization, and PowerShell. Success in this role requires a structured, team-oriented approach and excellent communication skills in German.

Required Skills

Education

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a comparable field, OR completed IT vocational training (e.g., IT Specialist) with equivalent skills and experience.

Experience

  • Professional experience in IT system integration of complex applications (e.g., DMS)
  • Minimum 3 years of relevant professional experience (required if applying with IT vocational training instead of a Bachelor's degree)
  • Experience in the public sector or complex administrative structures (Ideal)
