Job Summary

This is a unique opportunity for a highly motivated professional to pursue a doctorate while working as a Research Associate at the Institute Polymer Optical Fiber Application Center (POF-AC) at Nuremberg Tech University. The role focuses on the HAW-ForschungsPraxis 2024 project, specifically researching and developing electro-optical components for complete galvanic isolation in PCBs using printed polymeric waveguides. Day-to-day tasks involve independent research, conception, and development of these components, rigorous documentation, and presentation of findings, alongside active collaboration with internal and external project partners. Key requirements include a completed Master's degree in Physics, Electrical Engineering, or a related engineering field, coupled with specific knowledge and experience in electro-optical circuit design and optical system simulation. The position, which is fixed-term until mid-2029, requires fluency in both German and English, strong project management skills, and a high degree of initiative to tackle complex scientific challenges.
