Job Summary

This role involves ensuring the operational stability and continuous improvement of z/OS Mainframe systems, contributing directly to the digital future of the German Federal Armed Forces (Bundeswehr). The Senior System Engineer will be responsible for the implementation, testing, and deployment of software configuration changes, maintaining and advancing implementation and operational standards, and providing expert consultation on z/OS system usage. Key duties include managing the z/OS operating system, including security, database, automation, and monitoring software, and providing crucial Second-Level Support. Candidates must possess a degree in an IT-related field with 2 years of relevant experience, or 5 years of professional experience, coupled with strong knowledge of IBM Communications Server z/OS, Z System Automation, REXX, and JCL. The position requires strong analytical and communication skills, a willingness to travel quarterly, and readiness for on-call duty.
