Job Summary

Join the primary digitalization partner of the German Armed Forces (Bundeswehr) to contribute to Germany's digital sovereignty by developing the BundesMessenger, a secure, open-source communication platform for public administration. This Senior Web Developer role focuses on the conception and implementation of complex features for web applications using modern technologies like React and TypeScript. Day-to-day tasks involve ensuring outstanding code quality through rigorous testing and code reviews, analyzing and improving application performance and security, and collaborating closely with product management and UX/UI experts. The ideal candidate will have approximately four years of frontend development experience, expertise in building complex Single-Page Applications (SPAs), and a strong commitment to clean code, test-driven development, and maintainable software architectures. This position offers the opportunity to work on a high-impact, socially relevant project in an agile, interdisciplinary team, acting as a technical mentor and sparring partner for colleagues.

Required Skills

Education

University degree or comparable education in the IT field

Experience

  • Approximately 4 years in frontend development
  • Experience in realizing complex Single-Page Applications
  • Experience implementing accessible web applications (WCAG)
  • Experience with Rust in connection with web technologies (Desirable)
  • Professional experience acting as a technical sparring partner and mentor
