Job Summary
This role is critical for ensuring the digital future and security of the German Armed Forces (Bundeswehr) by advising and guiding software development teams on security and accreditation matters. The Software Engineering Security Advisor will be responsible for creating and maintaining security standards, providing training to developers, and ensuring the software development platform adheres to stringent German security regulations (BSI IT-Grundschutz, VS-NfD, VS-Geheim). Day-to-day tasks involve coordinating and evaluating penetration tests and collaborating within agile, virtual DevOps teams focused on continuous improvement, automation, and modern technologies like Cloudification and AI. This position requires a strong background in IT security, excellent communication skills, and a structured, independent working style, contributing directly to Germany's digital sovereignty and security infrastructure. The role is full-time and permanent, based in Bonn or potentially at other BWI locations across Germany.
Required Skills
Education
Degree in Computer Science or comparable education/qualification
Experience
- Minimum four years of relevant professional experience in the security environment
- Professional experience in advising and guiding software development teams
- Experience working in agile, virtual teams across multiple locations
