Job Summary

This Doctoral Researcher position, starting March 2026 at the DWI – Leibniz Institute for Interactive Materials, involves cutting-edge experimental research within a newly established group focused on soft and biological materials for biomedical and sustainable applications. The core mission is to investigate the properties of complex biological networks, specifically those composed of rigid filaments and liquid droplets formed via liquid-liquid phase separation. Day-to-day tasks include advanced protein handling, general biochemical laboratory work, meticulous data analysis, and comparing experimental outcomes with theoretical physical models and simulations. Candidates must possess a Master’s degree in (Bio-)Physics, (Bio-)Chemistry, Materials Science, or related Engineering disciplines. Success requires high motivation, a team-oriented mindset, a passion for multidisciplinary research, and strong communication skills in English.
