Job Summary

This doctoral position focuses on experimental research into complex biological fluids, specifically investigating how their properties arise through liquid-liquid phase separation (LLPS), a rapidly developing field in biomolecular condensates. The researcher will explore multi-component phase-separating droplets typical under physiological conditions, aiming to elucidate the properties of these biomolecular condensates. Key responsibilities include protein handling, general (bio-)chemical laboratory work, utilizing advanced techniques like Small-Angle X-ray Scattering, Neutron Scattering, Light Scattering, and Fluorescence Microscopy, and participating in beam times at synchrotrons. A crucial component involves data analysis and comparing experimental results with theoretical physical models. This role is ideal for a highly motivated individual with a background in biophysics, biochemistry, or materials science who is passionate about interdisciplinary research and developing sustainable and biomedical materials.
