Job Summary

This role as an Information Security Specialist involves proactively shaping and maintaining the IT security posture for the University of Natural Resources and Life Sciences, Vienna (BOKU). The specialist will be responsible for developing and implementing university-wide security policies and measures across central IT (network, servers, applications) and decentralized systems. Day-to-day tasks include conducting comprehensive risk and threat analyses, leading security implementation projects, documenting compliance, monitoring security metrics, and providing 3rd level customer support and training to IT teams. Candidates must possess a completed technical degree or equivalent professional experience, coupled with strong expertise in technical and organizational information security, project management, and specialized knowledge in areas like SIEM, Cloud Security, or Cryptography.
