Job Summary

This role seeks a dedicated Geographic Data Digitization Specialist to support the digital future of spatial data management. Day-to-day tasks involve the precise digitization of geographic data, including capturing detailed attributes and metadata for various spatial themes such as development plans, conservation areas, and hunting districts. A crucial component is performing georeferencing of plans using geobase data and providing essential user support and training for Geoinformation Systems (GIS) like QGIS and TerraWeb. Candidates should possess a background in administration, commerce, or IT, coupled with strong IT skills, proficiency in MS Office, and experience with digital graphic editing tools (GIMP, Inkscape). While prior GIS experience is beneficial, the willingness to learn new topics is paramount. This is a fixed-term, part-time opportunity (19.5 hours/week) within the public sector, offering public sector benefits, flexible working hours, and mobile work options.

Education

Completed vocational training as an Administrative Specialist, Employee Course I (AI), three-year commercial training, or vocational training with an IT focus.

Experience

  • Professional experience in administrative or commercial functions.
