Job Summary
This full-time, fixed-term Research Associate position in Biomedical Engineering at the University of Rostock focuses on cutting-edge research within the "DüDeMa" project, specifically developing advanced materials and 3D printing techniques for dental implants. Day-to-day responsibilities involve designing and characterizing ceramic feedstock, optimizing process parameters for 3D printing high-density ceramics, setting up experimental rigs for mechanical testing of implants, and rigorously documenting and publishing scientific findings. The successful candidate will also be expected to secure third-party funding and supervise student projects. Key qualifications include a strong scientific university degree (Master’s or equivalent) in Biomedical Engineering, Materials Science, or related fields. Practical experience in Lithographic Ceramic Manufacturing (LCM), ceramic slurry development, and rheological characterization is highly desirable. This role offers an opportunity to contribute significantly to interdisciplinary medical technology research in a supportive academic environment, requiring strong teamwork, independence, and a willingness to present results internationally.

Completed scientific university degree (Diploma, Master, or equivalent) in Biomedical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Material Science, or Chemical Engineering.
Experience
- Completed scientific university degree (Diploma, Master, or equivalent) in Biomedical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science, or Chemical Engineering, preferably with very good results.
- Professional experience in 3D printing procedures, specifically Lithographic Ceramic Manufacturing (LCM) (desirable).
- Professional experience in the material development of ceramic slurries for lithographic 3D printing (desirable).
- Professional experience in the rheological characterization of slurries and mechanical characterization of 3D-printed samples (desirable).
- Professional experience in establishing experimental test setups (desirable).
