Job Summary

GlobalFoundries is seeking an Electrical Engineering Specialist to join the Facilities department, responsible for ensuring the continuous supply of energy, water, gases, and chemicals to the production facilities in Dresden. This role primarily involves performing maintenance, troubleshooting, and installation work on essential electrical systems, including frequency converters, motor controls, safety lighting, and low-voltage switchgear. Day-to-day tasks include executing electrical installation work, conducting recurring inspections of fixed and portable equipment, and assisting with acceptance tests and commissioning of new or expanded electrical energy systems. Candidates must hold a relevant skilled worker qualification in electrical power engineering (e.g., Industrial Electrician or Mechatronics Technician) and possess practical experience in the installation, maintenance, and testing of process or building automation equipment. The position requires a service-oriented approach, strong teamwork skills, and the readiness to work in a rotating shift system (day and night shifts), ensuring operational continuity for a leading global semiconductor manufacturer.

Required Skills

Education

Skilled worker qualification in electrical power engineering (e.g., Industrial Electrician, Mechatronics Technician, Electrician for Energy and Building Technology, or comparable direction).

Experience

  • Practical experience in the installation, commissioning, maintenance, and testing of process or building automation equipment.
  • Experience handling motor controls.
  • Professional experience in electrical power engineering (ideally).
