Job Summary

This role as a Specialist Customs Classification involves managing the crucial task of global (6-digit code) and national customs classification for products, raw materials, goods, and technical materials across EMEA, ensuring compliance with international regulations and product specifications. A core responsibility includes maintaining and updating customs tariff codes within the SAP GTS system. The specialist acts as a key contact, providing expert advice to internal stakeholders across business units, Regulatory Affairs, and Supply Chain functions regarding classification matters. The ideal candidate holds a Bachelor of Science in Natural Sciences (Chemistry or Chemical Engineering) and brings several years of dedicated experience in customs classification, coupled with strong proficiency in SAP GTS and EHS. This position offers the opportunity to contribute to the review and development of customs classification processes, with a focus on simplification and digitalization, within Chemetall, a leading global unit of BASF focused on applied surface technology.
