Operations Trade Control and Customs Specialist | Chemiker (m/w/d)

Job Summary

This role, based within the Chemetall brand (BASF Coatings division), focuses on ensuring strict adherence to global trade control and customs regulations for specialized chemical products used across automotive, aerospace, and metalworking industries. The specialist will be responsible for maintaining legal compliance, managing necessary permits, and actively executing license management using SAP GTS (Global Trade Services). Key daily tasks include supporting the embargo and sanctions program through contract evaluation, documentation, impact analysis, and strategic communication. Furthermore, the specialist will contribute to the review and digitalization of trade control processes, actively participating in the broader Trade Control Community. Ideal candidates possess a Bachelor's degree in Natural Sciences or Business Administration, or commercial training, coupled with professional experience in trade control (preferably in the chemical industry). Strong knowledge of SAP GTS and excellent proficiency in both German and English are essential for success in this challenging and diverse compliance role.
