Job Summary

The Senior Infrastructure/Platform Engineer will join the DevSecOps Engineering department within the Competence Center IT-Security (CCITS), focusing on implementing and operating IT security-critical software projects for the German Federal Armed Forces (Bundeswehr). This role is crucial for maintaining and modernizing one of Germany's largest and most complex IT infrastructures. Day-to-day responsibilities include building and operating a secure, scalable Kubernetes infrastructure in air-gapped data centers, leveraging Infrastructure as Code and automation extensively. The engineer will also be responsible for developing a container-based Edge Computing environment as a product. Success in this position requires a strong background in infrastructure, excellent Kubernetes and automation skills, and proficiency with Linux hardening and virtualization. This position offers the opportunity to contribute directly to Germany's security and digital future by supporting the Bundeswehr's operational capabilities.
