Job Summary

This Technical Specialist role is situated within the Federal Institute for Geosciences and Natural Resources (BGR), focusing on the critical Georadar Technology Project. The core responsibilities involve coordinating and technically supervising Georadar (GPR) measurements used for rock characterization and the exploration of geological repositories. These measurements often take place under challenging conditions, including field deployments, helicopter operations, and underground environments. Day-to-day tasks include optimizing measurement parameters, ensuring rigorous data quality assurance, archiving, and processing data using specialized software. A significant part of the role involves the independent organization, maintenance, calibration, and modification of radar equipment, including the development and construction of specialized directional borehole and tunnel antennas (10 MHz to 2 GHz) and associated High-Frequency (HF) signal conditioning technology. Successful candidates must hold a Bachelor's degree in Electronics or Communications Technology with extensive experience in HF and analog/digital measurement systems.
