Job Summary

The Federal Institute for Geosciences and Natural Resources (BGR) is seeking a Head of Department B4.2 to lead its Geoinformation, Stratigraphy, and Library division. This pivotal role involves managing a team of approximately 50 employees across four work areas, coordinating and advancing the BGR's geodata infrastructure to meet legal requirements, and ensuring the strategic development of geoscientific spatial information. The successful candidate will oversee the implementation of the Geologiedatengesetz, develop standards for geodata products and services, and drive the digitalization of the institute's library and scientific archive.
