Job Summary

The Federal Institute for Geosciences and Natural Resources (BGR) is seeking two Chemical-Technical Assistants to join the Research and Development Center for Mining Consequences (FEZB) in Cottbus. This role is crucial for advancing scientific knowledge regarding the sustainable management of post-mining landscapes. Day-to-day responsibilities include performing complex water and aqueous solution analyses, primarily using ICP/OES Spectrometry, IC Ion Chromatography, and TIC/TOC Total Carbon determination. The assistant will also be responsible for instrument maintenance, calibration, quality assurance, method development, and rigorous data evaluation for database entry. Candidates must hold a completed Chemical-Technical Assistant qualification, possess strong experience in ICP/OES and Ion Chromatography, and demonstrate excellent knowledge of inorganic water analytics and laboratory quality assurance procedures. The position requires meticulous planning, teamwork, and a high degree of reliability.
