This role involves working as a Scientific Researcher at the Federal Institute of Hydrology (BfG) in Koblenz, focusing on the "LUFT - Traffic-related Pollutant Emissions and Immissions" project. The researcher will primarily concentrate on inland navigation, developing an emission model using Python to determine air pollutants originating from inland shipping. Key responsibilities include mathematically determining the uncertainties of model input parameters and overall results, conducting emission and immission modeling, and analyzing the impact of new air pollutant directives across different transport modes (inland, sea, road, rail). The position requires a background in Physics, Meteorology, Environmental Engineering, or a related field, strong statistical analysis skills, and proficiency in Python programming. The successful candidate must be able to document and present findings in German and publish peer-reviewed articles in English at national and international conferences.
