Job Summary

This part-time position (70%, starting January 1, 2026) within the Chemical and Veterinary Investigation Office (CVUA) Freiburg focuses on ensuring consumer protection and food safety, specifically within the Alcoholic Beverages department. The core responsibilities involve conducting detailed chemical-physical analyses of wines, spirits, musts, and vinegars using advanced analytical techniques such as HPLC, FTIR, automated enzymatic methods, titration, and photometry. The role also requires the successful candidate to manage and maintain laboratory measurement systems, organize sample flow, accurately log data into the laboratory information system (LIMS), and contribute to quality management tasks. Furthermore, the technician will assist in developing, validating, and optimizing testing procedures, and may be involved in mentoring apprentices and interns. Candidates must possess a completed vocational qualification as a Chemical Laboratory Technician or CTA, strong technical acumen, and fluency in German (C1) alongside good English skills, demonstrating reliability and organizational strength.
