Job Summary

The Chemical and Veterinary Investigation Office (CVUA) Freiburg is seeking a skilled Chemical Laboratory Technician to join the Convenience Food department on a contract basis until December 31, 2026. This role is crucial for ensuring food safety and consumer protection by analyzing a diverse range of products, including ready meals, sauces, seasonings, and vegan foods. Day-to-day responsibilities involve the comprehensive management and organization of incoming samples, meticulous data entry into the central LIMS system, and performing complex chemical analyses. Technicians will utilize both classic methods (Photometry, Gravimetry, Titrimetry) and modern instrumental techniques (HPLC, GC, NIR-Spectroscopy) to assess product marketability. A key component of the role is supporting the development, validation, and optimization of testing procedures, alongside strict adherence to Quality Management standards. The ideal candidate holds vocational training as a CTA or Chemical Laboratory Technician, possesses a strong technical understanding, and is fluent in German (C1 level), demonstrating reliability and organizational skill.

Required Skills

Education

Completed vocational training as a CTA (Chemical Technical Assistant) or Chemical Laboratory Technician, or equivalent qualification.

Experience

  • Experience working with Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS)
  • Experience with common MS-Office applications
  • Experience in analytical work using modern analytical techniques
  • Practical experience in a laboratory setting (desirable)
