Job Summary

The research group of Prof. Dr. Simone Mader at University Hospital Erlangen is seeking a highly motivated PhD Candidate to join the Department of Translational Immunology. This critical role focuses on elucidating how the immune system drives inflammation in the central nervous system and other immunologically affected tissues, specifically investigating the function of autoantibodies and autoreactive B cells. The successful candidate will conduct translational research utilizing cutting-edge analytical methods in molecular biology, imaging, and neuroimmunology, working with both in vitro models and patient-derived samples to explore candidate autoantigens and potential triggers of autoimmunity. Key requirements include a Master’s degree in a relevant field such as Immunology or Molecular Biology, coupled with practical experience in cell culture and common molecular biology techniques. Strong written and verbal communication skills in English are essential.
