Job Summary

The Federal Railway Authority (EBA) is seeking an Electrical or Communications Engineer to join the Hamburg/Schwerin branch office in a permanent position. This role focuses on the regulatory oversight and approval processes for new Signal, Telecommunications, and Electrical (STE) systems, with a strong emphasis on railway telecommunications infrastructure. Day-to-day responsibilities include processing applications and approvals according to the Railway Commissioning Approval Ordinance, monitoring the construction and subsequent operation and maintenance of these crucial STE facilities. The engineer will also participate in expert working groups on specialized technical topics and contribute to professional training and development within the department. Candidates must possess a Bachelor's degree or FH Diploma in the relevant engineering field and ideally bring experience and comprehensive knowledge of national and European railway law, coupled with strong analytical and negotiation skills. The position offers flexible working hours and the possibility of civil servant status.

Required Skills

Experience

  • Professional experience in the construction, maintenance, and operation of railway infrastructure facilities (Signal, Telecommunications, and Electrical systems)
  • Specialized experience in telecommunications technology within railway infrastructure
  • Comprehensive knowledge of European and National Railway Law
