Job Summary

The GSI Helmholtzzentrum, a leading particle accelerator facility involved in the international FAIR project, is seeking an Electrical Engineering Technician for the SFC Controls & Instrumentation department. This professional will be responsible for the installation, service, maintenance, and repair of stepper motor controls and power units, including commissioning and calibration of stepper motor drives. Daily tasks involve creating configuration files for control controllers, performing maintenance on beam diagnostic systems across accelerator facilities, and conducting fault finding on electronic boards and frames. Key qualifications include a technical vocational qualification combined with certification as a state-certified Electrical Engineering Technician or equivalent, strong knowledge of electrical and electronic circuit technology, and practical experience with electromechanical drives and control systems. The role requires good communication skills and a solution-oriented approach, offering an engaging, long-term position within a highly technical and international research environment.
