Job Summary

The University Hospital Freiburg is seeking a highly motivated Doctoral Researcher specializing in Computational Biology, Bioinformatics, or Systems Immunology. This critical research role focuses on uncovering the cellular and molecular mechanisms driving immune escape in Acute Myeloid Leukemia (AML). Day-to-day duties involve the analysis and integration of complex large-scale single-cell and spatial datasets, including CITE-seq, HDcyto, and Spatial Transcriptomics, utilizing advanced bioinformatic techniques such as probabilistic and Deep Learning models. The primary goal is to identify key cell communication networks and transcriptional programs that facilitate immune evasion, working closely with experimental partners for biological validation. Candidates must hold a completed Master's degree in a relevant scientific field and possess excellent proficiency in R and/or Python, along with Bash/Shell scripting. This position offers integration into the prestigious 'OncoEscape' Graduate School, providing access to high-performance computing resources, mentorship, and the opportunity to conduct translational research in a renowned, German Cancer Aid-funded research group.
