Job Summary

This position seeks a highly motivated Doctoral Researcher in Organic Chemistry or a related field to join the Federal Institute for Materials Research and Testing (BAM) in Berlin-Adlershof. The core focus of this 36-month project, integrated into the EU MIPrecise project, involves the development and synthesis of ultra-bright luminescent, magnetic, molecularly imprinted polymer nanoparticles (nanoMIPs). These nanoMIPs will be used for the targeted recognition of glycosylated tumor antigens (like sialic acid) and applied in the isolation of rare cells using flow cytometry (FACS) and magnetic separation. The role requires strong expertise in preparative organic or synthetic polymer chemistry, spectroscopic methods, and a passion for sensor systems and nanotechnology. The successful candidate will document and present research findings in scientific publications and conferences, contributing to cutting-edge methods for single-cell and multi-omics analysis of circulating tumor cells.
