Job Summary

The Federal Institute for Materials Research and Testing (BAM) is seeking a Doctoral Research Scientist specializing in Chemistry or Food Chemistry to join the Organic Trace and Food Analytics department in Berlin-Adlershof. This critical role focuses on developing cutting-edge approaches for PFAS (Per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances) target analytics, primarily utilizing HPLC-MS/MS. Day-to-day responsibilities include designing automated methods for rapid and reliable PFAS analysis, ensuring reliable quantification of PFAS-containing electrolytes in Li-ion batteries, and investigating complex transformation processes and products. Candidates must possess a strong scientific university background (Master/Diploma) and a very good doctorate in the relevant fields, coupled with profound knowledge of organic trace analysis and practical expertise in instrumental methods like GC, HPLC, and Mass Spectrometry.
