Job Summary

The Federal Institute for Materials Research and Testing (BAM) is seeking a Doctoral Research Scientist specializing in Chemistry or Food Chemistry to join the Organic Trace and Food Analytics department in Berlin-Adlershof. This critical role focuses on developing cutting-edge approaches for PFAS (Per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances) target analytics, primarily utilizing HPLC-MS/MS. Day-to-day responsibilities include designing automated methods for rapid and reliable PFAS analysis, ensuring reliable quantification of PFAS-containing electrolytes in Li-ion batteries, and investigating complex transformation processes and products. Candidates must possess a strong scientific university background (Master/Diploma) and a very good doctorate in the relevant fields, coupled with profound knowledge of organic trace analysis and practical expertise in instrumental methods like GC, HPLC, and Mass Spectrometry. Required Skills

Education

Scientific university degree (Diploma/Master) in Chemistry, Food Chemistry, or comparable; Doctorate (PhD) required in one of the specified fields

Experience

  • Practical experience handling instrumental methods (GC, HPLC, Mass Spectrometry)
