Job Summary

This role involves developing a sophisticated Digital Twin (DT) system to predict and manage corrosion, particularly Microbially Influenced Corrosion (MIC), within marine environments at the Federal Institute for Materials Research and Testing (BAM) in Berlin. The successful candidate will contribute to the DT architecture, create predictive simulation models, develop data processing and fusion algorithms, and integrate real-time sensor data. Key qualifications include a completed PhD in a relevant scientific or engineering discipline, coupled with proven experience in AI-supported modeling using tools like Scikit-learn or TensorFlow, and proficiency in software development (e.g., Python, Matlab). Required Skills

Education

Scientific university degree (Master/Diploma) in Materials Science, Biotechnology, Microbiology, Bioinformatics, Life Science, Engineering, or comparable, with a completed Doctoral Degree (PhD).

Experience

  • Professional experience with AI-supported modeling (e.g., Scikit-learn, TensorFlow, Pandas)
  • Professional experience in software development (e.g., Python, Matlab, Simapro)
  • Experience with sensor technology and real-time data integration
  • Practical experience in marine environments (desirable)
