Job Summary

This specialist role supports the Safety and Radiation Protection department at the GSI Helmholtzzentrum, working on the construction and commissioning of the international FAIR particle accelerator facility. Day-to-day responsibilities include the planning, monitoring, and detailed documentation of radiation protection installations, specifically on the FAIR construction site. The incumbent will develop comprehensive radiation protection concepts, operating procedures, and work instructions necessary for the installation, commissioning, and eventual operation of the FAIR facility. A critical component of the job involves coordinating technical issues, liaising directly with experts and regulatory authorities, and actively supporting the legal operating license procedure for the GSI/FAIR accelerator and experimental systems. This permanent position offers a challenging, varied role within a globally recognized research institute, requiring a Master's degree in a relevant scientific or engineering field and professional expertise in radiation protection.

Education

Master's degree (M.Sc. or University Diploma) in Natural Sciences or Engineering, or equivalent qualification

Experience

  • Professional experience in Radiation Protection (ideally)
  • Practical experience in planning and project coordination (ideally)
