Job Summary

This Doctoral Researcher position at the Institute for Medical Microbiology in Münster focuses on cutting-edge mechanistic infection research, specifically investigating how *Staphylococcus aureus* invades human cells, particularly during co-infection with the Influenza virus. The successful candidate will plan, execute, and document complex cell biological, microbiological, and molecular biological experiments, including analyzing protein interactions and host responses like signal transduction and cytokine secretion. A key objective is identifying the role of Thiol Isomerases to develop new therapeutic strategies against these life-threatening co-infections. This role requires a completed Master's degree in a relevant life science field (Biology, Microbiology, etc.) and proven experience with cell biological and molecular techniques such as Western Blot and qPCR. This is a unique opportunity to contribute to significant research, receive extensive methodological training, and present findings at international conferences, supported by a friendly team and modern university facilities.
