Job Summary

This role supports the Beam Diagnostics department at the GSI Helmholtzzentrum, a leading international research facility building the massive FAIR particle accelerator project in Darmstadt. The successful candidate will be responsible for the maintenance, repair, and commissioning of complex measurement and control systems used for beam diagnostics. Day-to-day activities include diagnosing and resolving faults in electronic and mechatronic systems, installing and calibrating diagnostic components, and performing quality assurance tests. You will also collaborate closely with scientists and engineers to optimize existing technical systems and develop new diagnostic procedures. This position requires a state-certified technical qualification in Mechatronics or Electrical Engineering, strong knowledge of control and regulation technology, and a proactive, team-oriented approach to problem-solving. This is a unique opportunity to contribute to world-class scientific research on a permanent contract basis.
