Job Summary

This role involves working as a state-certified Biological-Technical Assistant within the Phytopathological Laboratory of the Plant Protection Service in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, focusing on diagnostic testing for plant diseases. The core responsibilities include the organization, preparation, and execution of molecular-genetic and immunological pathogen diagnostics, particularly for virus and bacterial diseases in seed potatoes, and potato cyst nematodes in soil. Day-to-day tasks involve technical management of testing procedures, logistical coordination of high-throughput processes (PCR and ELISA), and independent analysis and technical approval of results. A key component of the job is maintaining the Quality Management (QM) system, including creating QM documents, conducting validations, and managing complex device systems like pipetting robots and real-time PCR cyclers. Candidates must possess a relevant technical degree, proven practical experience in PCR and ELISA diagnostics, and knowledge of quality management principles.
