Job Summary

This role involves working as a Certified Biological Technical Assistant within the Phytopathological Laboratory of the Plant Protection Service in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, Germany. The primary focus is the organization, preparation, and execution of molecular genetic and immunological pathogen diagnostics, specifically targeting viral and bacterial diseases in seed potatoes and potato cyst nematodes in soil. Day-to-day tasks include technical management of examination procedures, planning PCR and ELISA testing, adapting protocols, and independently evaluating analysis results. A key component of the job is quality assurance, involving the creation and maintenance of QM documents, conducting validations, and coordinating equipment verification. Candidates must hold a relevant certification (BTA/Biology Laboratory Technician) and possess proven practical experience in PCR and ELISA diagnostics, along with knowledge of quality management systems and experience with automated extraction and real-time PCR cyclers.
