Job Summary

The Fraunhofer Research Institution for Battery Cell Production (FFB) is seeking a Research Associate to join the Digitalization of Battery Cell Production department. This role focuses on building and researching the digital infrastructure necessary for modern, scalable battery cell production in Germany and Europe. Day-to-day tasks involve scientifically connecting data sources, such as production equipment and sensors, with high-level systems like IIoT platforms and Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES). The associate will develop infrastructure services, create innovative scientific methods for scaling digitized production processes, and collaborate with partners to build digital twins for battery cell manufacturing. Key requirements include a completed Master's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related MINT field, along with initial experience in machine interfaces (e.g., OPC UA, REST).
