Job Summary

This Research Associate role focuses on the digital transformation of battery cell manufacturing within the Fraunhofer-Gesellschaft. The successful candidate will be integral to the "Digitalization of Battery Cell Manufacturing" division, working on the conceptualization, development, and implementation of data-driven applications across the battery value chain. Day-to-day tasks involve systematically preparing data from heterogeneous sources, developing scalable data preprocessing pipelines, and designing and maintaining data ontologies for semantic modeling and improved data exchange. A key responsibility is identifying potentials for data-driven use cases, developing innovative solutions for process improvement, and analyzing methods for simulation and intelligent coupling of simulation models for decision support. This position is highly attractive as it offers the opportunity to contribute to a lighthouse project enabling economic and ecological battery cell production, with the potential for doctoral studies and extensive professional development in an inspiring, collaborative environment.
