Job Summary

This role involves contributing to cutting-edge research and development in the field of Artificial Intelligence, specifically focusing on the intersection of Large Language Models (LLMs) and robotics at the Fraunhofer IAIS. The Student Assistant will be integral in conceiving and developing innovative prototypes and demonstrators utilizing Foundation Models (LLMs, VLMs, VLAs) and multi-agent systems for robotic control and automation. Key daily tasks include researching current technologies, evaluating intelligent procedures like NLP and ROS, and implementing intelligent agents and demonstrators, primarily using Python. Candidates must be current students in Computer Science, AI, or a related field, with practical experience in robotics, ROS, and LLMs being highly advantageous. This position offers flexible hours and the opportunity to apply academic knowledge to real-world use cases, shaping the future of AI-driven automation within a leading German research institute.

Required Skills

Education

Current student in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Mathematics, Data Science, or a related field.

Experience

  • Initial practical experience with Robotics and ROS (advantageous)
  • Practical experience with Large Language Models (LLMs) and Vision-Language Models (VLMs) (advantageous)
  • Experience working on AI-related projects (desirable)
  • Experience using frameworks for agent-based systems (e.g., LangChain) (advantageous)
