Job Summary

This permanent position in Karlsruhe, within the Technical Environmental Protection department, focuses on monitoring environmental radioactivity around nuclear facilities in Baden-Württemberg. The successful candidate will primarily handle the physical-chemical preparation of various environmental media samples and perform instrumental analysis, including gamma spectrometry, Liquid Scintillation Counting (LSC) for tritium, and alpha spectrometry for detecting radiostrontium and other beta emitters. A crucial aspect of the role involves operating internal data processing programs for measurement and validation. Furthermore, the assistant will participate in organizing and conducting nuclear emergency protection (NNS-Pool) trainings and seminars, including the instruction of pool personnel. Key qualifications include a completed State-certified Chemical Technical Assistant qualification, practical experience with modern analytical instruments for radiation detection, and suitability as a professionally radiation-exposed person.
