Job Summary

This part-time (15 hours/week) Postdoctoral Researcher position, based in Görlitz, involves critical research within the CARBONWEB project focusing on soil food web dynamics and their role in global biogeochemistry. The successful candidate will co-coordinate global data collection from the Soil BON monitoring network, specifically handling fauna assessment images and samples. Key daily tasks include coordinating laboratory and field work, identifying soil invertebrates, conducting lab analyses of soil properties (especially organic matter), and leading data analysis using statistical modeling in R. The role requires publishing research articles as the lead author in international peer-reviewed journals, presenting findings at conferences, and supervising students. This is an attractive opportunity for a specialist in soil ecology to contribute to cutting-edge biodiversity research within an internationally recognized institution, helping to fill critical knowledge gaps regarding terrestrial carbon pools.
