Job Summary

The Helmholtz Institute for RNA-based Infection Research (HIRI) is seeking a Postdoctoral Researcher to join the Molecular Principles of RNA Phages research group in Würzburg. This role involves developing and implementing unbiased, global approaches to identify novel bacterial defense systems against RNA phages, followed by detailed molecular mechanism studies. Day-to-day activities include planning quality controls, method development, writing scientific publications, and supervising research assistants. Candidates must hold a PhD in natural sciences (e.g., biology, microbiology, biochemistry) and possess a strong publication record. Key requirements include several years of experience elucidating mechanistic cellular processes, expertise in phage biology, molecular biology, and culturing microorganisms.
