Job Summary

This doctoral candidate position focuses on cutting-edge research in Computer Vision and AI for autonomous mobility within the AImotion Bavaria hub. The core responsibility involves developing innovative methods for uncertainty quantification in autonomous vehicle perception, specifically targeting areas like object detection, semantic segmentation, and scene understanding. Day-to-day tasks include conducting deep learning research, integrating uncertainty metrics into automated driving systems, working with diverse datasets (synthetic and real-world), publishing findings in international forums, and contributing to funding applications. Candidates must possess an excellent Master's degree in AI, Robotics, or a related field, coupled with practical experience in uncertainty-aware machine learning and strong Python programming skills. This role offers the unique opportunity to pursue a doctorate in engineering and information science while collaborating with industry partners in an innovative research environment.
