Job Summary

The City of Herne is seeking a state-certified Technician, specialized in Civil Engineering or Environmental Technology, to join the Lower Water, Harbor, and Soil Protection Authority. This role involves both field service and administrative case processing, focusing on ensuring compliance with technical water protection regulations. Key daily tasks include inspecting facilities handling water-hazardous substances, monitoring wastewater disposal, overseeing environmental compliance during construction projects (e.g., groundwater extraction, remediation), and managing environmental accident response. The ideal candidate must possess a relevant technical qualification, strong technical understanding, and excellent German language skills (C1 level).
