Job Summary

The City of Herne is seeking a Geoinformatics Specialist to join the Surveying and Cadastre Department, focusing on the 'Geoservice' task area. This role is central to the city's digitalization strategy, involving the expansion of the Geodata Infrastructure (GDI), promoting Open Source solutions, and integrating new data streams like sensor and 3D data. Day-to-day responsibilities include configuring and administering the city-wide GDI, developing technical solutions for its advancement (especially in 3D and sensor data), and automating operational GIS processes through workflows for data integration and analysis. The ideal candidate must hold a degree in Geoinformatics, Computer Science, Surveying, or Geography with a focus on Geoinformatics. Essential skills include proficiency in QGIS, QGIS Server, relational spatial databases (preferably PostgreSQL/PostGIS), and programming (Python, JavaScript, SQL).
