Job Summary

Join the City of Herne's highly agile Digitalization Department as an Asset and Service Management Specialist, starting January 1, 2026. This full-time, permanent role is crucial for managing the city's IT assets and optimizing service delivery processes. Day-to-day responsibilities include inventorying and managing IT hardware across workstations, data centers, and networks, handling central goods receipt, catalog maintenance, and warranty processing, and participating in procurement. You will also be responsible for investigating asset management workflows, identifying optimization potential, and creating/adjusting workflows and forms within the Service Catalog. The ideal candidate must have a completed qualification such as an IT Specialist, IT Systems Electronics Specialist, or Business Informatics Specialist, possess experience with ITIL, and have basic knowledge of current IT applications (e.g., Windows 11, Office 2024, Server 2022).
