Job Summary

The Federal Office for Inland Traffic Technology (ABVT) in Koblenz is seeking a dedicated Communications and Information Technology Engineer to manage and advance critical traffic technology systems along Germany's inland waterways. In this permanent, full-time role, you will be responsible for evaluating system documentation, coordinating maintenance and inspection, and developing resource plans to ensure high availability and quality of information systems. Key duties include planning the technical and service-oriented development of systems, managing spare parts logistics, and overseeing procurement processes using public contract law (UVgO, EVB-IT, VgV). The ideal candidate holds a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering with a focus on Communications/Information Technology, possesses professional engineering experience, and has strong knowledge in network and server technology, software engineering, and procurement law. This position offers the opportunity to lead system development projects vital to the national transportation infrastructure, requiring strong organizational skills and fluency in German and professional English.
