Job Summary
This role involves critical laboratory work within the "Emissions/Immissions: Air" department of a federal agency focused on radiation protection. The successful candidate will manage sample logistics, including preparation and dispatch, and play a key role in a proficiency test for tritium and carbon-14 determination. A significant part of the job involves independently conducting quality assurance measures and radiochemical analyses of alpha and beta emitters in exhaust air samples from nuclear facilities. The position also contributes to the ongoing development of radiochemical preparation methods, ensuring adherence to the latest scientific and technical standards. This is an excellent opportunity for a detail-oriented professional with a background in chemistry or physics to contribute to environmental safety.
Required Skills
Education
Completed vocational training as a Chemical-Technical Assistant (CTA), Physical-Technical Assistant (PhyTA), state-certified Chemical Technician, or equivalent vocational training.
Experience
- Initial experience in a chemical laboratory in sample preparation
- Initial experience in wet chemical analysis
- Ideally, initial experience in radiochemical analysis

- Temporary contract (initially one year full-time, then 50% for the remainder of the three-year term).
