Job Summary

The German Weather Service (DWD) is seeking a dedicated Field Service Technician specializing in Electrical Engineering or Telecommunications to join the Service and Logistics department in Hamburg-Sasel. This permanent role involves ensuring the continuous operation of critical remote sensing infrastructure, including 18 C-Band weather radar systems, radiosonde stations, wind profilers, and wind shear measurement systems, which provide essential weather and climate data to the public and economy. Key responsibilities include independent execution of technical repairs, maintenance, installation, testing, and calibration. Candidates must possess a state-certified technician degree or equivalent vocational training in the relevant field, along with qualification as a certified electrician (Elektrofachkraft). The position requires physical fitness for climbing masts and working at heights, a valid driver's license, and a willingness to undertake business travel and participate in an on-call rotation system. Required Skills

Education
